Governor Otu’s aide, Akiba, to bury aunt on Saturday

Late Mrs. Atim Stanley Ikpeme, an aunt to the Special Adviser on General Duties to Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba, who has been a mother figure to him since the untimely death of his biological mother, will be buried on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

According to Barrister Akiba, “The late Mrs. Atim Stanley Ikpeme departed from this world on the 25th of April, 2024 after a brief illness at the age of 74 years. In honor of her memory, we have scheduled her funeral and memorial service for June, 29th, 2024 at the PCN, Mary Slessor Parish, Akpap Okoyong in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State by 11 am.”

He said: “Her presence in my life was invaluable, and her loss has left a void that cannot be filled. She was a foremost educationist who retired meritoriously as a Secondary School Principal.”

A Mourning House was opened at her residence in Calabar on Monday and also in her home town at Akpap Okoyong, Odukpani Local Government Area (LGA) on Wednesday.

Service of Songs is scheduled to be held on Friday at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN) Mary Slessor Parish, Akpap Okoyong, Odukpani LGA.
