Governors, royal fathers, political leaders, business moguls, senior military officers and other prominent Nigerians on September 3 and 5, 2026, converged on Lagos for the grand traditional and wedding ceremonies of Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore, son of prominent Niger-Delta leader and Chairman of Dewayles Group of Companies, High Chief Dr. Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), FCILG.

The ceremonies, which attracted distinguished personalities from across Nigeria and beyond, witnessed a colourful celebration of love, culture, class and family tradition as Dr. Oghenekome Egukawhore and his heartthrob, former Miss Stephanie Spencer, now Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore, exchanged marital vows amid pomp and pageantry.

The high-profile gathering was graced by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori; Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri; Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji; Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Peter Pereotubo Akpe, PhD; and a representative of the Ondo State Governor.

Also at the celebration were former Delta State Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, PhD, alongside other political leaders and distinguished personalities.

The presence of the governors and other high-ranking political figures added considerable prestige to the ceremonies, which also attracted serving and former senators, members of the House of Representatives, members of State Houses of Assembly, serving and former commissioners, and serving and former local government council chairmen from different parts of the country.

The business community was equally well represented, with captains of industry, bank chairmen, chief executive officers, managing directors and prominent stakeholders in the oil and gas sector joining the celebration.
Senior military officers, both serving and retired, also attended, alongside leading professionals and business executives.

Traditional rulers, royal fathers and respected chiefs, particularly from Delta, Bayelsa and Ekiti states, added royal colour to the occasion as they gathered to honour High Chief Wayles Egukawhore and celebrate with the newlyweds.

The ceremonies also provided a meeting point for families, friends, associates and well-wishers who travelled from various parts of Nigeria and beyond to identify with the Egukawhore family.
The atmosphere throughout the celebration was one of excitement and jubilation, with music, dancing, cultural displays and entertainment providing memorable moments for guests.

At the centre of the celebration were Dr. Oghenekome and Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore, who radiated happiness and gratitude as they welcomed their guests and celebrated the beginning of their marital journey.

For the father of the groom, High Chief Dr. Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), FCILG, the occasion was a particularly joyful and significant moment.

As Chairman of Dewayles Group of Companies and a respected Niger-Delta leader, High Chief Wayles Egukawhore has over the years built relationships across political, business, professional, traditional and social circles.

The impressive calibre of personalities at the wedding reflected the depth of those relationships, as eminent Nigerians from different sectors travelled to Lagos to celebrate with the family.

High Chief Wayles Egukawhore was visibly elated throughout the celebrations. His energetic dancing steps became one of the memorable highlights of the occasion, drawing applause and admiration from guests.
The proud father danced enthusiastically in celebration of his son’s union, adding further excitement to an already colourful ceremony.

In his appreciation remarks, High Chief Egukawhore expressed profound gratitude to the governors, former governor, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, serving and former senators, members of the National and State Assemblies, senior military officers, traditional rulers, captains of industry, business leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers who honoured his invitation.

He particularly appreciated those who travelled from far and near to share in the family’s joy and celebrate the union of his son and daughter-in-law.
The High Chief prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon all those who graced the occasion and wished them safe journeys back to their respective destinations.

The grand celebrations will undoubtedly remain a defining moment in the history of the Egukawhore family, while the union of Dr. Oghenekome and Mrs. Stephanie Egukawhore marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, surrounded by the love, prayers and goodwill of family, friends and distinguished guests.
