GRASSROOTS CONNECTION: ACCOUNTANT-GENERAL, CHIEF DR. HABIBAT OYIZA TIJJANI VISITS FAWWASS IHIMA BRANCH

The Accountant-General of Kogi State, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko (FCNA, FCTI), on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, paid a warm and memorable visit to the FAWWASS Ihima Branch in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, led by Hajia Zuleihat Asuku.

The women warmly welcomed the Accountant-General and expressed their heartfelt appreciation for her leadership, service and continued connection with the people at the grassroots.
During the visit, the Kogi State APC Deputy Women Leader commended the Accountant-General for her remarkable impact on the lives of women across Kogi State. She expressed pride in her humanitarian service, compassion and exemplary leadership, noting that her contributions continue to inspire and positively touch many lives across the state.
She also praised former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his leadership and expressed appreciation for his role in supporting the emergence of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as his successor.
The Kogi State APC Deputy Women Leader further commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what she described as the rapid growth, development and transformation taking place across Kogi State.
She reaffirmed the women’s strong political commitment to the continuity of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in 2027, declaring:

Also speaking during the visit, the Director-General of RUWASA, Alhaji Abdulsalami Ibrahim Ahovi, reminded the people of Ihima of the significant achievements recorded under the administration of former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello and urged them to appreciate the progress made during his tenure.
He also commended the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for its efforts towards the timely payment of workers’ salaries, pensions and gratuities, as well as initiatives aimed at making business and economic activities easier for the people.
Alhaji Ahovi urged the people of Ihima to remain united, peaceful and supportive of the continued development of Kogi State, stressing the importance of grassroots participation, community engagement and collective responsibility.
He reaffirmed the commitment to APC victory from top to bottom, declaring:

In her response, Chief Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, FCNA, FCTI, expressed her appreciation to the women of FAWWASS Ihima Branch, the Kogi State APC Deputy Women Leader, the DG of RUWASA and everyone who honoured her with their presence and kind words.
She expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception, prayers, love and unwavering support shown to her, noting that such gestures further strengthen her resolve to continue serving humanity and contributing to the wellbeing of the people.
The Accountant-General encouraged the women to remain united, peaceful, disciplined and strongly connected to their communities. She stressed the importance of regular ward meetings, meaningful community engagement and maintaining genuine relationships with the people.
She also prayed for the women, their families and the entire Ihima community, asking Allah to grant them peace, good health, prosperity, unity and continued success.
She reminded the gathering that true grassroots leadership is about being present, listening to the people, understanding their needs and working together for the development of the community.
