The lawmaker was kidnapped at his residence located in the Angwan Kaji neighborhood of Dong, Jos North Local Government Area. Sources close to the victim, including a former aide from his tenure as Vice Chairman of Pankshin Local Government and a staff member of the State Assembly, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the kidnappers ambushed Jacob at the entrance of his home just as he returned for the night. They forcibly seized him and fled the scene under the cover of darkness.

Danti Laven Jacob was intercepted by unknown hoodlums while driving into his house at about 8:00 pm and abducted to an unknown destination.”
Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Rantya Division and the Officer in Charge of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Jos quickly mobilized personnel and commenced combing surrounding bushes and forests, intensifying efforts to rescue the lawmaker.
Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adesina has ordered the Area Commander in Bukuru to deploy all Divisional Police Officers, alongside Tactical and Patrol Teams across Jos metropolis, to assist in the ongoing rescue operations. “The safety of Hon. Jacob remains our top priority, and we are determined to ensure his safe return,” CP Adesina affirmed.
As of the time of this report, the family of Hon. Jacob has yet to receive any communication from the kidnappers, deepening worries about his condition and safety.
