Gyang Zi Promises Good Representation in 2027
By Peter Azi – Jos
Hon. Gyang Zi (SAN), the 2023 Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Plateau Northern Senatorial District, has expressed his willingness to address some challenges facing the zone and the state generally. He is set to contest for the Senatorial Seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Learned Silk expressed his readiness while answering questions from journalists in Foron. He decried the enormous security challenges in the state, particularly the recent violent attacks in some local governments, and sympathized with the victims.
According to him, insecurity persists in the country because they always elect wrong people into positions of leadership. “I’m sure in 2027, when I emerge, there are a lot of security strategies I have put in place to ensure that peace returns to Plateau State, not just in the Northern Senatorial District.”
He stated that they must have the right leaders to take proper steps and address the challenges. “Especially with the new Electoral Act signed by the President, everybody is now going to be on board and nobody is going to be disenfranchised on the basis of delegates. All people need to do is register with their political parties and exercise their right to vote during primary elections.”
He took the opportunity to congratulate the newly coronated Gwom Rei Foron, His Royal Highness David Buna. “He is very close to me and I have a lot of confidence in him. I have no doubt about his capabilities. It is a fact that he is now in a completely different terrain in which he will be dealing with a different set of people.”
As a royal father, “he needs to be patient and ensure he builds up skills for arbitration or conciliation because those issues of disputes will be coming, and as a leader, he needs to resolve them. I don’t have doubt on him, and he will perform creditably well by God’s grace.”
