The elections, including those held in the Sabon Gari area, were conducted peacefully, transparent, and credible, allowing non-indigenes within the state to participate with confidence, free from fear. I personally observed the city during the election, and I am grateful to God that it ended with peace and jubilation.

It is commendable to note that the NNPP emerged victorious, winning all 44 chairmanship and 484 councillorship seats in Kano’s local government elections. This success was made possible by the large turnout of non-indigene voters, especially women who have witnessed the positive impact of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, particularly his commitment to poverty alleviation and women’s empowerment in Kano State.
We encourage the newly elected Local Government Chairmen and Councillors to follow in the Governor’s footsteps, supporting women and advancing opportunities in their respective communities.
