State Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara Bags MSc In Peace And Conflict Resolution, Federal University Lokoja

The State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Commander Duro Jerry Omodara (Rtd), has bagged an MSc In Peace And Conflict Resolution at the prestigious Federal University in Lokoja.

The 8th Convocation of the institution was held yesterday 26th October, 2024 at the main campus in Lokoja where graduates from different fields of disciplines were certified for academic excellence, celebrating their achievements with their family members, associates and well wishers, emphasizing the University’s commitment to excellence and societal development.

Jerry Omodara, who received an excellent score for his MS.c in Peace and Conflict Resolution, was among the post-graduate students honoured at the event.

In an Interview, the State Security Adviser described the tremendous accomplishment as a reflection of his unwavering dedication and passion for greatness.

He emphasized the importance of peace and security in the context of nation building, highlighted the role of Peace and Conflict management in fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse communities, which is crucial for sustainable peace and development.

He praised the management of the institution for academic achievement and character development, noting that their efforts will go a long way in producing future leaders and have a beneficial impact on the society.

He further commended his colleagues for their resilience and dedication, particularly in addressing contemporary conflicts and contributing to peace building.

Omodara hammered on the need for unity in tackling security challenges facing the nation. He urged graduates to leverage on their academic knowledge to promote peace and to be proactive in community engagement. While also encouraging more students to take up courses that promote peace building.

The State Security Adviser enjoined the University to create more programs aimed at conflict resolution and peace building initiatives in Kogi State and beyond.

The event concluded with a call to action for graduates to become Ambassadors of peace, advocating for understanding and collaboration in their respective communities.

The 8th Convocation of Federsl University Lokoja marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of graduates, particularly those in the field of Peace and Conflict.

At the event, the State Security Adviser was joined by the House of Assembly representative for Kabba/Bunu, Hon. Seyi Bello; the Zonal Security Adviser to the Governor in Charge of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Moses Olorunleke; the former Council Leader of Kabba/Bunu LG, Hon. Towonifinni Mosiko; an APC Stakeholder, Hon Funsho Braimoh; a community leader, Mrs Bola Olobayotan, a Former Legislative Aide to Frm. Kogi Speaker, Hon. John Oniwaiye Ogede, among other families and friends.
