‎The Member representing Lokoja-Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Danladi Aguye, has warmly commended the appointment of Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN) from Kogi State as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, and his subsequent confirmation by the Council of State earlier today.

‎Hon. Aguye described the appointment as well-deserved which confirms the outstanding integrity, professional excellence and years of commitment to national service of Prof. Amupitan. He noted that the President’s choice reflects his belief in competence and inclusiveness, and further projects Kogi State’s contribution to national development.

‎The lawmaker expressed confidence that Prof. Amupitan’s rich legal background and vast experience in public service will bring about strengthened electoral credibility and deeper democratic reforms in Nigeria.

‎While congratulating the new INEC Chairman, Hon. Aguye urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by ensuring transparency, fairness, and technological advancement in the nation’s electoral processes.

‎He further commended President Tinubu for once again demonstrating his commitment to merit, balance, and national unity in appointments that strengthen key democratic institutions.
