HON. (DR) DARE JOSHUA VENZA TO RECEIVE PRESTIGIOUS AWARD AS BEST PERFORMING EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN ON SECURITY IN KOGI STATE

The Executive Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Dare Joshua Venza, is set to receive a prestigious award as the Best Performing Executive Chairman on Security in Kogi State froma reputable media organization in Nigeria.
The award is in recognition of his outstanding commitment to ensuring peace, safety, and security of lives and property in Yagba East.

The honour will be presented to him at the newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja at 5:00pm.
The event is organized to commemorate 27 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria with the theme: “Economic Reform, Democracy and Sustainable Development: The Nigerian Example.”
Announcing the honour, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Democracy Newsline Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi commended Dr. Venza for his proactive security policies and collaborative approach with security agencies that have significantly reduced crime in Yagba East.
“Hon. Dr. Dare Joshua Venza has demonstrated purposeful leadership in the area of security. Through community policing, intelligence gathering, and support for security agencies, he has made Yagba East one of the most peaceful local government areas in Kogi State,” Chief Femi stated.
Under Dr. Venza’s administration, the council has invested in surveillance infrastructure, logistics support for security operatives, and youth engagement programmes aimed at preventing crime and promoting peaceful coexistence.
In his response, Dr. Venza expressed appreciation to DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper for the recognition. He dedicated the award to Governor Usman Ododo and the people of Yagba East, security agencies, and traditional rulers for their cooperation in maintaining peace.
“Security is the foundation of development. This award will spur us to do more in protecting lives and property and creating an enabling environment for growth in Yagba East and Kogi State at large,” he said.
The ceremony will also feature a keynote lecture by policy experts and the induction of other distinguished Nigerians into the Good Governance Hall of Fame for their contributions to democracy, leadership, and national development.
Government officials, traditional rulers, security chiefs, and stakeholders from across the country are expected to attend the event.
