Hon. Leke Abejide Mourn Demise of Obaro of Iyamoye, Oba Momoh
Hon. Leke Abejide, Member Representing Yagba East, Yagba West, Mopamuro Federal Constituency, the “Amuwa Joye of Iyamoye”, has expressed condolences on the passing of Obaro of Iyamoye Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi Momoh, who joined his ancestors on Sunday at the age of 86.
In his statement, Hon. Abejide said he was saddened by the news of the monarch’s death, adding that the late Oba of Iyamoye, Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi Momoh served the people of Iyamoye with great love and humility not leaving out other communities around Iyamoye. He was an embodiment of love and a great custodian of the people’s culture and tradition.
Hon. Abejide was a beneficiary of a traditional title from the traditional ruler, who was conferred the “AMUWA JOYE of Iyamoye” by the late monarch, they have a good relationship.
“My relationship with the Late Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi was unique during his lifetime. He embodied genuine love and was a peaceful man to the core who loved the progress of his people, he was the first to conjure the idea of extending WAEC payment to Iyamoye community and Ijumu, so that Iyamoye and other communities around could be beneficiaries.”
Hon. Leke Abejide expressed condolences to the family of the late traditional ruler, the Iyamoye Chiefs in council, friends, associates, Iyamoye community as a whole, and Chief Duro Olusegun. Oba Ibrahim Ademinuyi Momoh will be remembered for his wise counsel and sundry contributions to the development of the Iyamoye community and the entire communities around Iyamoye in general.
He said the late monarch lived a fulfilled life and left a worthy legacy of selfless service through his invaluable contributions to the development of his community, despite the short time he spent in his newly built Palace which was commissioned a few days before he joined his ancestors.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to give the town a successor that would accord the welfare of the people and development of the community top priority as done by the late Oba Ibrahim.
“On behalf of myself and the good people of Yagba Federal Constituency, I commiserate with the family of the late monarch and the people of Iyamoye. Our prayer is that God will comfort the family and the community. This is a great loss not only to Iyamoye but to the whole State. Oba Ibrahim Momoh, no doubt, lived a fulfilled life. May Allah grant him eternal rest and give him Aljannah firdaus as reward for his good deeds,” Abejide added.
