HON. OMOLUABI BODE ADEYEMI MOURNS THE PASSING OF HON. ALFRED BELLO’S MOTHER, MRS. MARY FUNKE BELLO, AND DESCRIBES HER AS A RARE GEM WHO LIVED A LIFE OF FAITH, SACRIFICE AND GRACE
Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Energy Matters and Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers, has expressed profound grief and heartfelt condolences to Hon. Alfred Bello and the entire Bello family over the passing of their beloved mother, Mrs. Mary Funke Bello, who departed this world at the age of 82.
In a solemn condolence message released through the Omoluabi Media Network, Hon. Omoluabi described the late Mrs. Bello as an extraordinary woman of courage, unwavering faith, uncommon wisdom and remarkable virtue, whose life was a shining testament to the power of love, sacrifice, service and devotion to God.
He said her passing represents the departure of a rare gem, a remarkable mother and a woman whose footprints were deeply etched in the lives of those she encountered.

According to Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, Mrs. Mary Funke Bello was a woman who understood the true meaning of motherhood. Her love for her children knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their upbringing, welfare and success. Through her sacrifices, guidance, prayers and exemplary character, she helped build a family whose values would continue to speak for her long after her departure.
“Mrs. Mary Funke Bello was a woman of uncommon substance. She was courageous in the face of life’s challenges, graceful in her conduct, generous in spirit and unwavering in her devotion to God. Her life was not merely lived; it was a life of purpose, sacrifice and positive impact.”
Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi further described the deceased as a virtuous woman full of grace and wisdom, whose devotion to the work of God reflected the depth of her faith and character.
“She loved God and served Him with sincerity. She carried herself with dignity, wisdom and humility, and she gave generously of herself to those around her. Her kindness was genuine, her counsel was valuable, and her love was boundless.”
He noted that while death has silenced her voice, it cannot erase the indelible footprints she left behind.
“A rare gem has returned to her Maker. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are consoled by the knowledge that she lived a life worthy of remembrance. Her legacy of faith, love, sacrifice, courage and wisdom will continue to shine through her children, grandchildren and the many lives she touched.”
Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi particularly commiserated with Hon. Alfred Bello, urging him and the entire family to draw strength from the remarkable life their mother lived and the enduring values she bequeathed to them.
He said the loss of a mother creates a void that words can hardly fill, but expressed confidence that the memories, teachings and sacrifices of Mrs. Bello would remain a source of strength and inspiration to her family.
“To Hon. Alfred Bello and the entire Bello family, I urge you to take solace in the beautiful legacy your mother has left behind. Her physical presence may have departed, but her love, wisdom, prayers, sacrifices and values will continue to live in you. What a woman leaves behind in the hearts and lives of others is the true measure of a life well lived.”
Hon. Omoluabi prayed that Almighty God would comfort the Bello family, strengthen them in this difficult season and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also prayed that God would receive the soul of the deceased, forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest in His presence.
“May the Almighty God grant Mrs. Mary Funke Bello eternal rest and grant the family the grace to journey through this painful season with faith and courage. May the legacy of this exceptional woman continue to speak for generations to come.
