HON. OMOLUABI BODE ADEYEMI TO BE INSTALLED AS ATAIYESE OF AYERE LAND OCTOBER 24, AS CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES POUR IN FROM ACROSS NIGERIA

Preparations have reached an advanced stage for the installation of Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi as the Ataiyese of Ayere Land, scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, as congratulatory messages continue to pour in from political leaders, traditional institutions, associates, community stakeholders, admirers, and well-wishers across Nigeria.

The highly anticipated traditional ceremony is expected to be one of the major highlights of the 2026 Ayere Cultural Day and New Yam Festival, popularly known as Ayere Day (Atuwusi), an annual celebration that showcases the rich cultural heritage, ancestral traditions, and enduring identity of the Ayere community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The colourful celebration will take place at the United Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) School Ground, Ayere, with proceedings scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.

The forthcoming installation of Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi as Ataiyese of Ayere Land marks a significant moment in the community’s traditional calendar, underscoring the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in preserving cultural values, strengthening communal bonds, and promoting unity among the people.

As news of the forthcoming installation continues to gain momentum, congratulatory messages have reportedly emerged from various quarters, reflecting the goodwill and anticipation surrounding the occasion. Associates, political figures, friends, admirers, and well-wishers are expected to join the Ayere community in celebrating the traditional recognition.

The ceremony is expected to attract an impressive gathering of traditional rulers, political leaders, distinguished personalities, community representatives, indigenes of Ayere, and friends of the kingdom, all united by a shared commitment to celebrating the community’s cultural heritage and supporting its continued development.

The 2026 Ayere Day celebration is being promoted by Asiwaju Prince Engr. Dr. Olatunji Olusoji, the Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, whose involvement highlights the importance of sustaining the kingdom’s cherished traditions and creating platforms that foster cultural awareness, communal harmony, and collective advancement.

Beyond the much-anticipated installation, Ayere Day (Atuwusi) remains an important cultural institution that brings together the people to celebrate their ancestral identity, strengthen relationships, and reaffirm their shared aspirations for a prosperous future. The annual festival also provides an opportunity for sons and daughters of Ayere, both at home and in the diaspora, to reconnect with their roots and contribute to the development of their ancestral community.

The festival is expected to feature a colourful display of Ayere’s cultural traditions and customs, reinforcing the bond between the traditional institution, community leaders, and the people while promoting the preservation of the kingdom’s heritage for future generations.

Pastor Akinwale Obayori, Chairman of the Planning Committee, has been designated as the contact person for enquiries and further information concerning the forthcoming celebration.

As the historic date approaches, anticipation continues to build across Ayere and beyond, with the October 24 gathering poised to combine cultural festivities, traditional recognition, and communal celebration in an atmosphere of pride, unity, and heritage.

The installation of Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi as Ataiyese of Ayere Land is expected to add further significance to this year’s celebration, making the occasion a memorable chapter in the cultural history of Ayere Kingdom.

Ayere Day 2026 promises to be a celebration of tradition, a symbol of unity, and a reaffirmation of the enduring cultural identity of the Ayere people.
