HON. SANNI JIDE PROMISES 1,000 DIGITAL JOBS, MODERN CYBER CAFÉS ACROSS KABBA-BUNU/IJUMU FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY IF ELECTED
The NDC House of Representatives candidate for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Olajide (Sanni Jide), has pledged to create no fewer than 1,000 digital employment opportunities and establish well-equipped cyber cafés and digital innovation centers across communities in the constituency if elected.
Speaking during an interaction with youths and stakeholders, Hon. Sanni Jide said the future of the world is driven by technology, innovation, and digital skills, stressing that the constituency cannot afford to be left behind in the global digital revolution.
According to him, unemployment remains one of the greatest challenges facing young people in Kabba, Bunu, and Ijumu, and a deliberate investment in technology and digital empowerment will provide sustainable solutions to joblessness, poverty, and youth restiveness.
He explained that his proposed digital empowerment programme will focus on training youths in various technology-related fields, including graphic design, software development, digital marketing, content creation, data analysis, web development, cyber security, and other lucrative online opportunities capable of generating income from any part of the world.
Hon. Sanni Jide further disclosed that his administration would facilitate partnerships with local and international technology organizations to ensure that beneficiaries receive globally competitive training and certification.
The NDC candidate for Kabba Bunu-Ijumu Federal Constituency also promised to establish modern cyber cafés and digital hubs strategically across the constituency, equipped with high-speed internet facilities, computers, solar-powered electricity, and learning resources to support students, job seekers, entrepreneurs, and young innovators.
He noted that many talented youths in the constituency lack access to digital infrastructure and opportunities needed to compete in today’s economy, adding that his vision is to bridge the digital divide and position Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu as a leading hub for innovation and technological advancement in Kogi State.
“Technology has become the new oil of the global economy. Our youths are talented, intelligent, and hardworking. What they need is access to opportunities, digital skills, and the right support system. My commitment is to ensure that at least 1,000 young people benefit directly from digital employment initiatives while every part of our constituency gains access to modern ICT facilities,” he said.
He urged youths to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning, emphasizing that the future belongs to those who are prepared for the digital age.
Residents and youth groups who attended the engagement commended the initiative, describing it as a bold and forward-looking vision capable of transforming the economic fortunes of the constituency and creating a new generation of digitally empowered entrepreneurs.
The proposed programme, according to supporters, would not only create employment opportunities but also enhance educational development, improve access to information technology, and stimulate economic growth across Kabba, Bunu, and Ijumu communities.
Hon. Sanni Jide reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered representation, promising to champion policies and programmes that will empower youths, women, and vulnerable groups while promoting sustainable development throughout the constituency.
