Hon. Teejay Yusuf Mourns Former Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris
Kogi West PDP Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Teejay Yusuf, has expressed profound sadness over the death of former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing his passing as a significant loss to his family, Kogi State and the wider community.
Yusuf, in a condolence message, said he had the privilege of knowing the former governor and crossing paths with him during their political and public service journeys in Kogi State.
According to him, the late Ibrahim Idris occupied a distinctive place in the political history of the state, given his experience, years of public service and contributions to Kogi’s political development.

He said the former governor belonged to a generation of leaders who played significant roles in shaping the state’s political evolution and contributed to the development of its democratic institutions.
“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris leaves behind a significant political legacy. He was part of the generation of leaders who helped shape Kogi State’s political evolution and contributed to the development of our democratic institutions,” Yusuf said.
He noted that the late governor’s tenure and years of engagement in public affairs would remain important chapters in the history of Kogi State, adding that his record would continue to be remembered and assessed within the context of the period in which he served.
Beyond politics and public office, Yusuf described Ibrahim Idris as a father, elder, leader and statesman whose life touched many people.
He said the former governor’s death was consequently a profound loss to his immediate family, Kogi State and those who knew and respected him.
Yusuf extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, loved ones, political associates and the people of Kogi State, praying Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed Allah to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss, while urging that the late governor’s contributions to public service be remembered.
“May his memory remain a blessing, and may the legacy of his service continue to endure. Ameen,” Yusuf said.
