OLUKOTUN OF IFE-OLUKOTUN MOURNS ALHAJI IBRAHIM IDRIS, BAMITANSE OF IFE-OLUKOTUN

The Olukotun of Ife-Olukotun, HRM Oba Shuaibu Aiyegbajeje Mohammed, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Governor of Kogi State and Bamitanse of Ife-Olukotun, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing his passing as a personal loss and a painful one to the entire community.
In a condolence message, the monarch described the former Governor as a calm, humble and peaceful leader who enjoyed a special relationship with the people of Ife-Olukotun.

“Alhaji Ibrahim Idris was not just a former Governor to us. He was our our friend and a man whose name will remain part of the history of Ife-Olukotun,” the Olukotun said.
He recalled that the Idris administration constructed the road from Igbagun towards Ejuku through the Ife-Olukotun axis, bringing asphalt to the route for the first time.
According to the monarch, the road opened up communities, eased movement and commerce and gave the people a greater sense of belonging.
“It was in appreciation of this intervention and his friendship with our people that we honoured him with the chieftaincy title of “Bamitanse of Ife-Olukotun”. The title was our expression of gratitude to a Governor who remembered us,” he said.
The Olukotun said that beyond his achievements in office, he would personally remember the former Governor for his humility, accessibility and peaceful disposition.
On behalf of the Ife-Olukotun Traditional Council and the entire community, the monarch extended condolences to the family of the deceased and the people of Kogi State.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the former Governor’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. Amen
