“I Will Defeat Deputy Speaker Ten Times Over, Even If Election Is Held Tomorrow” — Ajang Destiny Ajik
By Peter Azi – Jos
Ajang Destiny Ajik, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for Jos East State Constituency, Plateau State, has expressed confidence in his chances of defeating the incumbent Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isa Madaki Ajiji, in the forthcoming general election.
Ajik said he enjoys widespread grassroots support across Jos East and is confident of winning the election by a wide margin, even if the poll is conducted tomorrow.
According to him, although the incumbent enjoys government backing and has access to public resources, he remains optimistic that the people will decide the outcome of the election based on their convictions and desire for effective representation.
“I am very certain of victory. Once you have God, you have everything,” he said.
The YPP candidate also highlighted the importance of zoning arrangements in Jos East, noting that the people are known for their commitment to the principle of zoning to ensure that every section of the constituency has a sense of belonging.
He expressed confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which will conduct the 2027 general election, saying he expects the process to be more transparent than elections conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission.
Ajik also congratulated the newly elected executives of the Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA) on their victory, urging them to embrace inclusive leadership and carry every segment of the community along in their activities.
He further stated that, if elected into the Plateau State House of Assembly, he would prioritise effective representation and lobby for development projects to address the needs of his constituents.
Among the projects he intends to pursue is the rehabilitation and completion of the abandoned Fobur–Maijuju Road, alongside other infrastructure and development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of residents of Jos East.
Ajik called on the people of the constituency to support his aspiration, expressing optimism that his election would usher in a new era of responsive representation, equitable development and improved service delivery.
