The National Woman Leader of the Igala Development Association (ICDA) and Iyebule General of the Igala Kingdom, Hajiya Jumai Chide Kebiru, has commended members of the Igala Consultative Forum (ICF), Ankpa Chapter, for successfully hosting the 7th edition of the Ankpa Cultural Day Celebration.
Hajiya Jumai described the event, which took place on Saturday, December 27, 2025, as a world-class cultural showcase, applauding the rich cultural displays and colorful paraphernalia on display. She praised the organizers for their painstaking efforts, consistency, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the people of Ankpa Local Government Area, as well as the entire Igala Kingdom.
According to her, many aspects of Igala culture would have gone extinct and remained unknown to the younger generation—particularly Gen Z—if not for the passion and dedication of the Igala Consultative Forum. She described the initiative as noble, timely, and highly commendable.
While calling on privileged sons and daughters of Ankpa to support the initiative, Hajiya Jumai noted that beyond its cultural significance, the event promotes love, unity, and peaceful coexistence among the people.
Speaking in her capacity as the Iyebule General of the Igala Kingdom—a chieftaincy title symbolizing a Queen Mother—she urged women across the kingdom to uphold the values of fidelity, respect, and submission in marriage, describing these virtues as honorable responsibilities of wifehood.
She further opined that for Ankpa Local Government Area and the entire Igala Kingdom to experience rapid and sustainable development, there must be synergy and cooperation among the people, alongside strategic partnerships with individuals and corporate organizations, to harness the region’s vast sociocultural and economic potentials.
