The leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared himself the only “priceless” politician in Kano State, insisting that money has never influenced his political decisions.
Speaking to supporters at his residence in Kano on Tuesday, Kwankwaso said he stood apart from the common belief that every politician has a price. He maintained that if personal gain were his motive, he knew where to align politically, stressing that no one had ever approached him with an offer to buy his loyalty.
The former NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections extended the description to his followers, describing Kwankwasiyya supporters as equally priceless because they refuse to be swayed by money during elections. He urged them to remain calm and patient, reminding them that political offices are temporary and that circumstances can change at any time.
Kwankwaso’s remarks come amid reports of a growing rift between him and his political protégé, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, following speculations that the governor may be planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
