IDRUFEM Launches Food Bank for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Distributes 2,000 Bags of Rice, Garri, and other food items

Kabba, Kogi State — December 2025

Dr. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi (IDRUFEM), the African Democratic Congress (ADC) aspirant for the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, has launched a Food Bank Initiative aimed at providing relief to constituents, widows, internally displaced persons, orphans, and the less privileged across the constituency.
The Food Bank was officially unveiled as part of activities to mark the Christmas season, reflecting Dr. IDRUFEM’s commitment to compassion, inclusiveness, and grassroots support. The event took place at Peacock Resort, Kabba, and attracted party leaders, youth representatives, widows, internally displaced persons, and other stakeholders from across the constituency.
As part of the initiative, a total of 2,000 bags of rice and garri were distributed, alongside other essential food items, including beans, as well as cash support. The items were equitably shared across the thirty (30) wards that make up the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
Speaking at the event, IDRUFEM emphasized that the Food Bank is not a one-off gesture and not politically motivated, but a people-centered intervention designed to cushion the effects of economic hardship, especially on the most vulnerable members of society.
“Christmas is a season of love, sharing, and hope. This Food Bank represents our collective responsibility to ensure that no widow, orphan, or struggling family is left behind. Leadership must be felt at the grassroots, and service to humanity must come before politics,” he stated.
Party leaders and beneficiaries at the event commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, while calling for sustained support for policies and programs that prioritize social welfare and community development.
The IDRUFEM Food Bank Initiative, according to organizers, will continue to serve as a platform for humanitarian outreach beyond the festive season, reinforcing a vision of responsive leadership and people-driven governance for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. Long Live Kabba/Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, Long Live Kogi State, Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
