I’m a Better Version of Myself – Hon. Ziphion
By Ahiaba Douglas – Abuja
The Liaison Director for MDAs and Security Agencies in Plateau State, Hon. Ziphion Terkop Chrysanthus, has credited the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja, for transforming him into a better version of himself through the strategic training, skills, and exposure he gained during the nine-month intensive course.
Hon. Ziphion made this known at a reception held in his honour at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, shortly after his graduation from the prestigious institution on Friday, August 22, 2025.
According to him, the college offered a rare opportunity to acquire analytical skills and leadership capacity needed to function effectively in a complex, dynamic environment. He affirmed his readiness to deploy this wealth of knowledge and experience to the service of Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
> “Today, I am a better version of myself. I am happy and excited. God has used the College to transform my life, helping me to understand what is required at the strategic level so that I am able to operate efficiently in any given responsibility,” he said.
The visibly elated Ziphion expressed boundless gratitude to the NDC for its transformational impact, adding that the knowledge gained has equipped him for impactful service to humanity.
Earlier, while addressing a large gathering that comprised his colleagues, members of NDC Course 33, Plateau State government officials, family, friends, and well-wishers, Hon. Ziphion attributed his success to the grace of God and the overwhelming support he enjoyed from his people.
The National Defence College remains Nigeria’s apex military training institution for senior officers of the Armed Forces and is globally recognized as a Centre of Excellence in strategic-level training for peace support operations. While it has traditionally admitted personnel from the military, paramilitary, and federal ministries and agencies, Hon. Ziphion made history as the first-ever state government official to be admitted and successfully graduate from the College.
At the graduation ceremony of Course 33, he not only completed the rigorous academic and leadership training but also distinguished himself with exceptional performance, setting a new precedent for state-level participation in Nigeria’s national security and governance discourse.
A proud son of Plateau State, Hon. Chrysanthus currently serves as Liaison Director for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and Security Agencies in the Plateau State Government. Beyond his official duties, he is widely respected as a philanthropist, community leader, and founder of the Ziphion Chrysanthus Foundation, a non-profit organization known for its humanitarian interventions in healthcare outreach, education, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation across underserved communities.
He also expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his unwavering support, as well as to individuals and institutions who played vital roles in his success.
With this historic feat, Hon. Ziphion has blazed a trail for future state-level leaders, proving that advanced strategic training is crucial in bridging the gap between governance and national security in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
