*#NewNiger – From 2 Years Diary of Activities – ACCESS TO QUALITY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION*
~ His Excellency, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, Governor Niger State

* The Revitalization of Basic Education Infrastructure in Niger state with Marafa Basic School as pilot scheme ongoing

* Approved production of 23,400 chairs with attached lockers for conducive learning and teaching environment in public schools

* Establishment of Abubakar Abdulsalami University of Agriculture & Climate Action Mokwa as the 65th State University and the 277th in Nigeria

* Establishment of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna (AKUM)

* Process for establishment of Abubakar Imam University of Science and Innovation Zungeru (in progress).

* Process for the establishment of the study center by Kent City University, USA, within the AKUM campus is ongoing

* Niger State Government set to disburse over N2 billion for 2024/2025 academic session bursary for Niger State Indigenes studying in tertiary institutions across the country after successful screening of over 27,000 applicants

* Payment of 2023/2024 Bursaries to Niger State Indigenes studying in tertiary institutions across the country to a sum of N2.5 billion

* Payment of N100miilion as Council Examination Fees to Students of College of Nursing Sciences, Minna, School of Health Technology, Minna & Tunga Magajiya.

* Farmer Governor Umaru Bago donated N100 million to Federal University of Technology Minna for the construction of hostels

* N500 million support to Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna (AKUM) for accreditation

* N86 million as scholarship support for the first 86 Matriculated Students of AKUM

* N250 million support to Newgate University, Minna

* Sponsorship of 750 students at the Federal Science and Technical College, Kuta

* Scholarship Award from Secondary School to Tertiary Institution to 5 Niger State Pupil from Public School that won the International Debate Competition in Indonesia, with N500,000 as each parent support and N5million to officials

* Donation of $2,000 each to 100 beneficiaries and N1m each as parental support to 100 parents of beneficiaries of Senator Muhammad Sani Musa foreign scholarship scheme

* 100 students beneficiary of the Federal Scholarship through the Office of the First Lady, Hajia Fatima Mohammed Umaru Bago received N300,000 each, and this will continue for 3 academic sessions.

* Presentation of a cheque of N348,880,000 to support the education of 8,772 girls through the AGILE project and other partners

* Presentation of Scholarship Awards to 105 student beneficiaries of the Gen. Ibrahim Attairu Foundation

* Payment of over N500 million as outstanding dues to West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) so that students’ results will no longer be withheld.

* N65 million disbursed to some selected students of Niger state studying abroad to enable them complete their studies and N23 million to a female Nigerlite to undergo pilot training at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria

* Training 150 students and youths on Artificial Intelligence

* Introduction of Skills Acquisition in Junior and Senior Secondary Schools

* Resolution of staff issues bordering on excess workloads, annual increment resulting from promotions

* Composition of Governing Council of Ibrahim Badamasi University, Lapai and restoration of peace between students and host community

* Ongoing conversion of old Shiroro Motel to Ibrahim Badamasi University Teaching Hospital

* Through the Rural Community Development project, 4 new schools constructed and renovated 32 existing schools

* Re-accreditation of all academic programs at the Niger state owned tertiary institutions

* Profiling students for the overseas scholarship Aptitude Test across the state

* Distributed kitchen utensils to boarding schools and classroom furniture and monthly distribution of food items to 35 boarding schools and 8 Integrated Qur’anic Education

* Commissioning of the New State Examinations Office in Minna.

* Wife of Niger State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago distributes Farm Equipment’s to Primary and Secondary Schools in order to boost school farm activity.

* Improved school enrolment and girl child education.

* Reviewed Niger State Schools Textbooks after 19 years

The BAGO plan for a #NewNiger has promoted digital literacy and technological advancement with over four thousand individuals (4,000) trained directly in ICT Skills Development, with an estimated six million (6 million) benefiting indirectly. The Abdulsalam Youth Center has been converted to an ICT Hub, with the UNDP committing $800,000 infrastructural development.

The administration of Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago is collaborating with all the education sector stakeholders, including students, parents, the academic community, relevant unions, the government and the international community to produce an inclusive and educational system that promotes life-long learning through a strategic educational plan opening new horizons for our children in Niger State.
