INEC Recognizes David Mark as ADC Chairman, Aregbesola as Secretary

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized Senator David Mark as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), bringing an end to months of internal leadership tussle within the party.
Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has been named National Secretary.
According to INEC’s updated party particulars on its official website, the new National Working Committee (NWC) of the ADC includes
– National Chairman: Senator David Mark, former Senate President
– National Secretary: Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, former Minister of Interior
– National Treasurer: Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad
– National Financial Secretary: Akibu Dalhatu
– National Legal Adviser: Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor, former Edo State Governor
The recognition by INEC is expected to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, with stakeholders expressing optimism about the new leadership’s ability to provide stability and direction for the ADC.
The party has been adopted as the coalition platform for the 2027 elections by opposition politicians and some party leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Nasir El-Rufai.
