Lawmaker Leke Abejide Condemns Bandit Attack in Kogi, Calls for Government Action
Hon. Leke Abejide, the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has strongly condemned the recent bandit attack in Egbe-Okoloke, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The attack, which resulted in the gruesome killing of three police officers and two vigilantes, has been described by Hon. Abejide as “brutal, horrific, and sacrilegious.”
He expressed his condolences to the affected families, the community, Yagba West local government, and the Nigerian Police Force, praying for the souls of the deceased officers to rest in peace.
Hon. Abejide called on the State and Federal governments to rise to the needs of the people, particularly in Yagba Federal Constituency, to enforce the protection of lives and properties.
He noted that the communities and forests are no longer safe, as the perpetrators use them as safe havens to carry out their nefarious activities.
The lawmaker urged the Kogi State government to do everything within its capacity to apprehend the bandits and prevent a recurrence of such incidents in any part of Yagba, especially Egbe, Okoloke, and other border communities.
He prayed that the hoodlums would meet their Waterloo soon.
