Infrastructure: KoSU Governing Council Commends Donors After Project Inspection

The Governing Council of Kogi State University, Kabba has commended philanthropists who have contributed to the rapid infrastructural growth of the institution, particularly Dr. John Adegboye, a Perth-based medical practitioner who is funding the construction of a 1,300-capacity auditorium for the university.

The commendation was made at the conclusion of the 5th Regular Meeting of the Governing Council held at the Council chamber of the university on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Following the meeting, members of the Council, led by the Chairman, Professor Suleiman O.E. Sadiku, embarked on an inspection tour of key ongoing projects on the campus. These included the expansive 1,300-capacity auditorium currently under construction and the newly installed Automated Weather Station donated by the Nigerian Metereological Agency, NiMET.

Council members expressed delight at the quality, scope, pace, and quality of the projects, describing them as timely contributions to the institution’s academic and research development.

Speaking during the inspection, Professor Sadiku lauded the donor through the project supervisor, Mr. Shola Ademokoya, for his commitment to educational development, describing the gesture as a shining example of purposeful giving that will impact generations to come.

He also noted the significance of the Automated Weather Station, which supports research, climate studies, and agricultural development, particularly in an era of changing environmental realities.

“We are not only seeing buildings and installations,” Professor Sadiku said, “we are witnessing legacy projects that reflect faith in the university’s mission and future.”

The Vice Chancellor, Professor K.I.T. Eniola fNSM, FRA, who guided the Council team during the inspection, thanked the members for their oversight and the donors for their transformative support.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to building a future-ready institution anchored on innovation, excellence, and partnerships.
