By Sunday Ajayi+ Kabba
The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, under the leadership of Elder Ben Olowodola, have hosted more than 300 party loyalists, electorates, and community members from across the 15 wards of the local government area at a meeting in Kabba.

Elder Benjamin Olowodola was represented at the event, held at Cinema House, Kabba, by Dr. Jaiye Ajayi, Special Assistant on Legal Matters to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The meeting focused on strengthening party unity, resolving internal differences, and developing strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections. Participants emphasised the importance of grassroots mobilisation, effective coordination, and collective commitment to the party’s electoral success.
A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion on strategies for the forthcoming elections. Participants stressed the need for stronger grassroots engagement, effective communication with voters, reconciliation among aggrieved members, and coordinated mobilisation across the local government area.
The stakeholders noted that electoral success requires more than political declarations; it demands strategic planning, a united membership, consistent community engagement, and a shared commitment to the party’s objectives.
At the gathering, the stakeholders declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the continued leadership of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the re-election of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
They also expressed support for Arch. Salman Idris, alongside the APC candidates for Kabba/Bunu State Constituencies I and II, Hon. Boluromi Emmanuel and Hon. Timothy Olabuja, respectively.
The stakeholders particularly highlighted the importance of Senator Karimi’s representation of Kogi West, emphasising the value of continuity, effective legislative engagement, and sustained advocacy for the interests of the senatorial district.

They maintained that Kogi West requires consistent representation capable of engaging relevant institutions, drawing attention to the needs of constituents, and supporting initiatives that can improve the welfare of the people.
They further urged constituents to appreciate the importance of constructive collaboration between elected representatives and the communities they serve, noting that sustained engagement and effective representation are essential to democratic development.
The stakeholders called on APC members and supporters to rally behind Senator Karimi, expressing confidence that unity and coordinated grassroots mobilisation would strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.
Another major focus of the meeting was the need to reconcile aggrieved party members and resolve internal disagreements that could weaken the APC’s unity in Kabba/Bunu and across Kogi State.
The stakeholders appealed to members who might feel disappointed, marginalised, or dissatisfied with certain party decisions to embrace dialogue and reconciliation in the interest of the party’s collective future.
They emphasised that political parties become stronger when members are willing to listen to one another, resolve disagreements peacefully, and place shared objectives above individual grievances.
They also stressed the importance of inclusive leadership, fairness, and mutual respect, noting that genuine reconciliation requires sincere efforts to rebuild trust and give members a renewed sense of belonging.
According to the stakeholders, the forthcoming elections present an opportunity for APC members to demonstrate political maturity by putting their differences aside and working collectively towards the party’s success.
The stakeholders called on party faithful, eligible voters, and community members to participate peacefully in the democratic process and support the APC’s candidates at all levels.
They canvassed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, Arch. Salman Idris, Hon. Boluromi Emmanuel, and Hon. Timothy Olabuja.
They maintained that coordinated support across the federal, state, and constituency levels would strengthen the party’s capacity to pursue its policy objectives and advance the interests of the people.
The stakeholders further appealed to aggrieved APC members not to allow personal disagreements to undermine the party’s collective aspirations. Instead, they encouraged them to embrace reconciliation, participate actively in party activities, and contribute meaningfully to preparations for the forthcoming elections.
They expressed optimism that the meeting would strengthen internal cohesion, improve grassroots mobilisation, and encourage a more coordinated approach to political engagement throughout Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.
The gathering concluded with a renewed call for peace, unity, strategic planning, and collective responsibility. The stakeholders stressed that a united APC would be better positioned to mobilise support and pursue electoral success in 2027.
