Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu SSAs Visit Royal Fathers, Seek Blessings for Hon. Arch Salman Idris’ Second Term Bid
In a significant political and traditional engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections, a delegation of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) from Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency paid courtesy visits to two prominent royal fathers in Okunland to seek royal blessings for the re-election of Arch Salman Idris.
The delegation, led by Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, visited the palace of the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, Oba Dele Owoniyi, as well as the palace of the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni (JP).
Speaking during the visits, Chief Ipinmisho noted that as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 national elections, the SSAs from Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu Local Government Areas have reaffirmed their collective resolve to ensure the return of Hon. Salman Idris to the National Assembly for a second term.
According to him, the visit to the royal fathers was aimed at seeking their royal blessings and moral support as efforts intensify to consolidate on the achievements already recorded by the lawmaker representing the constituency.
Responding to the delegation, the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni (JP), stressed the importance of continuity in leadership. The revered monarch emphasized that Hon. Arch Salman Idris deserves the opportunity to serve for another term, citing his legislative efforts and the developmental impacts he has facilitated across the constituency.
The monarch noted that the lawmaker’s performance so far has demonstrated commitment to the welfare and development of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, urging constituents to rally support for his re-election.
Similarly, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, Oba Dele Owoniyi, welcomed the delegation and commended their sense of political engagement.
In his remarks, the monarch reflected on the twelve years of representation previously enjoyed by the constituency under a former lawmaker whom he acknowledged performed commendably.
He stated that whatever spirit and motivation sustained that period of impactful representation should equally inspire the people to support the current representative, Hon. Arch Salman Idris, in his quest for a second term.
The visit also had in attendance several notable SSAs and political stakeholders from the constituency. Among them were Chief Funsho O. Emmanuel, former Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area and SSA on Social Media Matters; Hon. Oyewole M. Solomon, the newly elected APC Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area; and Hon. Israel Alonge, former Chairman of the Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
Others present included Hon. Job Ologe, Hon. Yusuf Tajudeen, Hon. Fidelis Bello, Hon. Alex Ibikunle, Hon. Egbebi Kayode, Owoyemi Williams, Gbenga Oshoke, Yusuf Sunday, Bose Olupeka, and Obaditon Hameed Moses Ogunnibi, alongside several other supporters.
The visit, observers say, marks one of the early political consultations in the constituency as stakeholders begin strategic engagements ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
