Dear Sir,
27th March 2026
A PASSIONATE APPEAL FOR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE STATION IN KABBA
I write to you with profound respect, a deep sense of urgency, and unwavering hope to seek the intervention of your esteemed office under the distinguished leadership of C.G Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, regarding a matter of critical importance to the people of Kabba and its surrounding communities in Kogi State.
Kabba, a historically significant town within Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, has in recent times witnessed a disturbing and recurring rise in fire outbreaks. These incidents have continued to cause devastating destruction to homes, shops, and small-scale businesses, leaving in their wake loss, despair, and economic hardship.
It is particularly heartbreaking that many of the victims of these fire disasters are hardworking individuals who have laboured relentlessly to build modest businesses as a means of escaping poverty. In a matter of minutes, years of sacrifice and perseverance are reduced to ashes. The emotional and psychological toll on these individuals and their families is immeasurable, as they are often left frustrated, displaced, and thrown back into conditions of uncertainty and hardship.
Sadly, the absence of a functional and well-equipped Federal Fire Service Station in Kabba has significantly worsened these unfortunate situations. In most cases, fire outbreaks escalate uncontrollably due to delayed emergency response or complete lack of professional firefighting support. Community members are left with no option but to resort to crude and ineffective methods, thereby increasing the magnitude of destruction and, at times, endangering lives.
Kabba serves as a vital commercial and social hub for numerous surrounding communities, making the need for a Federal Fire Service presence not only important but absolutely necessary. The establishment of a standard fire service station in Kabba would ensure rapid emergency response, mitigate losses, protect lives and property, and enhance public awareness on fire prevention and safety practices.
Sir, it is also important to respectfully acknowledge that you are not only the Controller -General of the Federal Fire Service but also a proud son of Kabba/Bunu. This unique connection to the land and its people places you in a remarkable position to further demonstrate your commitment to the safety and wellbeing of your community. While your office serves the entire nation with fairness and dedication, the people of Kabba hold a special hope that their son in such a distinguished position will lend a compassionate ear to their plight and champion this critical intervention.
We firmly believe that this request is not merely an appeal based on sentiment, but one grounded in necessity, urgency, and the collective interest of the people. Your leadership presents a rare and meaningful opportunity to leave a lasting legacy in Kabba by facilitating the establishment of a Federal Fire Service Station that will serve generations to come.
In light of this, we humbly call for a strategic partnership between the Federal Fire Service and the Kogi State Government to bring this vision to reality. Such collaboration could involve the provision of land, infrastructure development, deployment of personnel, and operational support required to ensure the station’s effectiveness and sustainability.
The establishment of this facility will not only address the immediate challenges posed by frequent fire outbreaks but will also restore hope, confidence, and economic stability among residents and business owners. It will reassure the people that their government remains responsive and committed to protecting their lives, livelihoods, and aspirations.
Sir, this appeal goes beyond formal request—it is a heartfelt call to action. It is a plea to safeguard the dreams of the people, to protect the fruits of their labour, and to prevent avoidable tragedies that continue to leave lasting scars within the community.
We are confident that under your capable and compassionate leadership, this matter will receive the urgent attention it deserves. The people of Kabba and its environs look forward with great expectation to your favorable consideration and decisive action.
Thank you for your continued service to the nation and for your anticipated support in addressing this pressing need.
Please accept the assurances of our highest esteem.
Yours faithfully,
Comr. Olorunhudo Samuel Taiwo
