Kogi @ 34: Chief Edward Meseko, Business Tycoon Bags Leadership in Community Development Award.

Chief Edward Meseko, Business Tycoon has been conferred with the Outstanding Leadership in Community Development Award.

The Award was conferred on the business tycoon and politician from Mopamuro LGA of Yagba Federal Constituency at an event tagged Kogi @ 34 and Public Lecture and Award in celebration as part of activities marking the thirty fourth year of the creation of Kogi State organized by the Nigerian Post Newspaper in Lokoja.

The award is for individuals who have been selfless, with penchant to do more with their God given resources and the instrumentality of representation if given to the opportunity.

Participants at the Kogi @ 34 Nigerian Post Newspaper Lecture, described the as a thorough breed politician who’s passion for his people to serve meritoriously knows no bound, described him as a politician that is usual from the average.

They added that his commitment to serve remains his people is commendable, urged him to continue in his trajectory of service to humanity, pointing out that he has justified his love for the people of Yagba federal Constituency.

Receiving the award, the Lawmaker, who was represented at the occasion thanked God and the Nigerian Post for finding him worthy for the award.

In their separate remarks, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom HRM Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo and Comr. Idris Miliki and others, described the Chief Meseko as a round peg in a round hole.

“Mine is a call to service and it is so nice and so amazing to know that some people out there are watching what I’m doing. And when you’re been watched on whatever task that you are into and they now deem it fit to say thank you, because I see award as a kind of appreciation to the little you’re doing, today I am been awarded with the most Outstanding Leadership in Community Development Award”.

He commended the Publisher of Nigerian Post, Mr. Mike Abuh for his consistency in organising the annual event, adding that the award will spur him to do more.

“I thank God for this recognition and I give him all the glory. This award will spur me more into doing more because once they say you have been doing well, you have to double your efforts. They people are indirectly telling you, that you need to do more and by God’s grace, God will lead me to do more for the people of Yagba Federal Constituency. It is a call to service and I will continue to serve the people.”

Chief Meseko of dedicated the award to God Almighty and the people of his constituents, said if giving him the opportunity to serve by electing him as they are advocating as there lawmaker from the area, promised to do more.

On the 34th anniversary celebration of the creation of Kogi State, he noted that the State has made significant progress in the last thirty four years.

“In Kogi, we have gone a long way. But so far so good, if you see the State from creation up to this moment, there is a lot of monumental changes and Kogi clocking thirty four is another step of progressive progress. There is a lot of progress in all this years down to 34. We’re good to do more in terms of Education, health, human development and politically. Kogi at 34, the best is yet to come and we will continue to do the best. Kogi is a baby State but we could equate ourselves even with the older State. Yes, what we can do is to do more in the good we are doing than now in Kogi State. I’m not taken this award for granted. My prayer is for God to continue to bless Kogi State”.

” I will continue to prioritize the welfare of the people of Yagba Federal Constituency in all areas of representation I find myself”, Chief Meseko assured.
