Kogi ALGON Chairman Charges Kogites to love one another as he gets a Rousing Welcome on his return from Hajj
Ijumu Local Government Chairman and Kogi State ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Isah Taufiq has charged Kogites to unite against crime and love one another in order to move the state forward for the betterment of all.
The council boss disclosed this while addressing newsmen at his country home, Odokoro after he was given a heroic welcome from Saudi Arabia where he joined millions of Muslim faithful to perform this year’s pilgrimage.
According to him, as a Muslim, he is fulfilled to have been privileged to be part of this year pilgrimage to perform one of his religious obligations with the support of Governor Yahaya Bello, stressing that all leaders in Nigeria at all levels who are Muslims and have visited the Holy land should have a change of heart to start to do good for the people.
He said his experience in Saudi Arabia is enough to change people’s hearts for them to love themselves and do whatever thing that will make people comfortable, pointing out that with the kind of resources available in the country, things should be better than what it is.
He commended Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, the Chairman and CEO of Mangal Cement industry, Iluagba for his monumental support to the local government, admonishing him to continue to maintain the healthy relationship for the overall development of the state.
He also used the opportunity to eulogized the people of Ijumu for maintaining peace before, during and after the sallah, stressing that despite not being around, there was no security breach while he was away, describing the actions of the local government elected councilors, appointees and other stakeholders who trooped out to his residence to welcome him back from Hajj as a true show of love.
He said he is overwhelmed by the show of love but not surprised at the warm reception accorded him by the mammoth crowd that received him in Odokoro Gbede, his country home where most of his supporters and loyalist have come to show solidarity and affection for his successful return from the Holy land.
As a mark of respect the ALGON Chairman paid homage to the burial ground of the late Chief Imam of Odokoro Gbede, an Islamic scholar, Alh. Saheed Arikeuyo, in appreciation of his prayers for him while he was alive, stressed that he has to pay him that respect because most of his prayers for him then are coming to pass.
He equally paid homage to the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Isah Abdulganiyu and his mother for their support and prayers for his political career and wellbeing of his children.
Alhaji Taufiq thanked Governor Yahaya Bello, after God for making him attain the level he is today, stressing that it will be 7years in few days when he has been in charge of Ijumu local government and state ALGON without any interruption. He noted that the Governor is a destiny helper who has helped him to be recognized in the society.
He urged the people of the area to go about their lawful businesses without any molestation, with the promise that any act of crime or criminality will be meet will stiff consequences.
