Kogi Assembly Elects Usman Ibrahim Chief Whip, lifts suspension order on Bello Abdullahi
The 7th Kogi State House of Assembly today Monday elected Hon Ibrahim Usman who represents Adavi State constituency as Chief Whip of the House.
This was at the wee hours of the 7th assembly tenure in office
The election was subsequent on the motion moved by the Speaker, Rt Hon Mathew Kolawole, that the House should nominate Hon Usman as Chief Whip.
In a voice vote, members unanimously confirmed his nomination.
Similarly, Speaker Kolawole requested the House on a compassionate ground to lift the suspension order placed on Hon Bello Hassan Abdullahi, representative of Ajaokuta State constituency who had been on suspension on the allegation of engaging in terrorism act and electoral violence.
The House subsequently in a unanimous vote lifted the suspension, thus making the 7th Assembly to end with 24 members.
The 25th member, late Hon Jimoh Musa of Yagba East constituency had died some months ago.
