Kogi Council Election: KOSIEC Deploys Sensitive Electoral Materials to LGAs
….Maintains Neutrality, Assures of Credible, Transparent Polls.
The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission has released the sensitive electoral materials for the Saturday’s Local Government Election to their various LGAs Electoral Officers.
The State Chairman, Mr. Mamman Nda Eri who monitored the release of the sensitive Electoral materials at the headquarters of the Commissioner to their various LGA Electoral officers, said the materials arrived the headquarters of the Commission around 9:00pm of Thursday.
The Chairman said election will hold in 239 Wards of the 21 LGAs simultaneously on Saturday 19th October from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
He added that for as many that would be on the queue to exercise their franchise by 3:00pm would be allowed to vote urged for the orderly conduct of the electorate.
The Chairman said the materials upon arriving the various local Government Areas would be dispatched to the Wards and Polling Units, assured that all is now set for the conduct of a hitch free election.
The Chairman added that for a peaceful conduct of the election and for security reasons, their world be restrictions of movement from 6:00am to 4:00pm, described tue restrictions as measures to ensure credible election.
”As you can see, the Commission is releasing sensitive materials to Local Government Electoral Officers. This will be dispatched to Wards and Polling Units in the LGAs.
“As a Commission we are irrevocably committed to a transparent process. I can assure you that this election will meet with the yearning and aspirations of the people in terms of credible standards”, the SIEC Chairman assured.
