KOGI CP HONOURS OUTSTANDING OFFICERS, SAYS EXCELLENCE WILL DRIVE SAFER KOGI STATE

LOKOJA — The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, psc, mni, on Thursday decorated deserving officers with the Commissioner’s Commendation Awards, describing the ceremony as a celebration of dedication, professionalism, and courage.

The event held at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja was aimed at publicly recognizing officers whose “outstanding performance, commitment to duty, and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force have distinguished them among their peers.”

CP Kankarofi said since his assumption of office, the Command’s focus has been to build an “intelligence-driven, operationally effective, professionally accountable, and community-oriented” police force in Kogi State.

_“This vision is championed through leadership, but it can only be realized through the commitment and sacrifices of officers and men who work tirelessly, often under difficult and dangerous conditions, to safeguard lives and property across the State,”_ he said.

The CP highlighted the achievements that earned the honorees their awards, including:

<span;><span;>- Successful anti-banditry operations and rescue of kidnapped victims

<span;><span;>- Neutralization and arrest of notorious criminal elements

<span;><span;>- Dismantling of human trafficking and kidnapping syndicates

<span;><span;>- Effective prosecution of sexual and gender-based violence cases

<span;><span;>- Professional training of officers and development of new operational strategies

He noted that the accomplishments were _“the product of discipline, teamwork, professionalism, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to service.”_

While congratulating the recipients, CP Kankarofi said the commendation was both a recognition and a challenge to sustain high standards and serve as “worthy ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force.”

To other officers not honored, he urged them to see the ceremony as motivation for healthy competition.
_“Every officer has the opportunity to earn recognition through diligence, integrity, innovation, and outstanding performance in the discharge of their duties,”_ he added.

The Kogi CP expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, for “visionary leadership and strategic policies” that continue to strengthen policing nationwide.

He also thanked the Kogi State Government, sister security agencies, traditional rulers, vigilante groups, hunters, the media and other stakeholders for their collaboration in maintaining law and order.

To the media, he said: “Your role in informing the public and fostering trust between the Police and the communities we serve remains invaluable.”

CP Kankarofi charged officers to remain vigilant as crime evolves.
_“Together, we shall continue to build a safer and more secure Kogi State where law-abiding citizens can live, work, and prosper without fear,”_ he concluded.

The event ended with prayers for the Nigeria Police Force, Kogi State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
