Kogi Decides 2023: Okun United for Ododo/Joel Woos former Commissioner for Finance, Abiodun Ojo
Ahead of the November 11th Governorship Election in Kogi State, Okun United For Ododo/Joel support group has intensified efforts in wooing more heavyweight politicians in Okunland to join the train of securing overwhelming victory for the APC Governorship candidate.
The support group which has promised to move round the nooks and crannies of Okunland to mobilize electorate that will add value to the project at hand has visited the former Honourable Commissioner for Finance under the administration of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, aka Ibro, Hon Abiodun Ojo to win him over to the APC.
Speaking at his Egbeda Egga residence, the State Security Adviser who doubles as the coordinator of the group, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd) said the group has found it necessary and important to visit him and asked for his support for the Ododo/Joel Project as his support will give the party comfortable win in Ijumu and beyond.
He said APC in Okunland needs personality like him in the party as it would help in having a formidable fronts to negotiate appropriately for something tangible anytime the needs arises.
While the Director General, Barrister Alfred Bello commended him for his leadership roles over the years in the opposition, pleaded with him to join them in the ruling party as his wisdom, experience and knowledge are needed to shape the leadership structures of the party in Okunland, stressing that the current arrangements may not take the area anywhere
Responding, the former Commissioner for Finance and an Oil magnate, Hon. Abiodun Ojo commended the group for its laudable initiatives to return Okunland to the mainstream politics especially with the current administration in the state.
He said as an experienced politician, he already know where the pendulum will swing, hence he will advise that there must be agreement and any agreement they entered into must be followed meticulously so that Okun people will not have cause to regret their actions in the nearest future.
He assured them that he was with them in spirit, body and soul to achieve victory for the Governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress come November 11.
Giving the votes of thank, the Secretary General of the group, a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Philip Orebiyi thanked him for granting audience, expressed his confidence in the ability and leadership of Hon Abiodun Ojo to deliver any day anytime.
He assured him that the group would do whatever they needed to do to ensure Okun have their rightful place at the appropriate time.
