Ayodele posited that Egwaba is a silent achiever whose efforts at revamping the educational sector in Kogi State is highly commendable and recognized.

According to him, “The Nigeria education merit award is our modest contributions to national development which serve as motivational impetus for individuals who contributed immensely towards the standard of education especially in Kogi state and by extension national development.

“This award to Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba
is in pursuance of the organization initiative that involves chronicling outstanding Nigerians who contributed their quotas to education development thereby seeking to engender sustainable educational development.

“Rewarding individuals who contributed towards educational development is not about shifting responsibilities from government to individuals because it is the responsibility of government to provide for the welfare of the populace especially education.

” Accordingly, government at different levels are expected to deliver on their mandate of creating the enabling environment and opportunities that are conducive for the education aspirations of the massés.

“Unfortunately, the general assumption continues to gain ground, that most elected Nigerian leaders are irresponsible and self. serving Opportunist. Interesting however, there are few leaders who have distinguished themselves as exemplary statesmen and Women in which Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba is one of them in Kogi State.

“These few crops of visionary rare breeds remain totally selfless and passionately committed towards the welfare of the people they are elected to serve. Such leaders and individuals deserve recognition and encouragement. This gesture awakens-others in positions of truth and responsibilities to the fact that the society is watching; thereby keeping them on their toes”.

Responding, the Kogi State Deputy Rt. Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba disclosed that she remains committed in overhauling the education sector in Ibaji State Constituency, Kogi State and Nigeria in general.

“To God be the glory is another way of stepping forward in my life and that of the people I serve and in Kogi State in general. I want to say a big thank you to God Almighty and to the group that has found me worthy to be recognized.

“As a leader, we know we are being examined by others who is seeing a our great work in Kogi State especially in education in my Constituency. I am highly elated and am dedicating this award to the constituency that brought me to serve them. This award will spore me to do more in Kogi State and Nigeria in general. It is a call to serve humanity.

“For my constituency, and the people of Kogi State, alot is being expected from us to make laws that will bring meaningful development in our dear State. As a legislator being voted for, the grassroots wants dividend of democracy that will changes the narrative from what is known in the past. For us as legislators, we are doing our best to ensure that our people get the best of governance” she added.

The Kogi State Deputy Speaker who recently attended UN summit in Abuja advocated for inclusion of more Women in governance.

“For the, Senate we have just four Women while the house of representatives we have more than 10 Women which is not encouraging. The role of Women in nation building should not be relegated to the background or kitchen. Women should see themselves as a model for good governance in our great nation Nigeria.

“In the just concluded UN summit, our focus was on the need for the inclusion of more Women in governance. Our expectations is that Nigeria should take the lead for more Women to be in elective positions as being seen in other African Countries like Uganda, South Africa, Kenya among others.

“I want to commend the immediate past Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and our present Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for surpassing the 35 percent affirmative actions for Women in governance.

“Kogi State is leading by example and it is expected that more Women should be allowed to contribute their own quota for the development of Nigeria. My appeal is that Women should expung this mentality that Men wouldn’t allow us to achieve our political goals. When we begin to look beyond this, Nigeria will be developed”she stated.
