KOGI GOVERNOR’S AIDE VISITS NLC STATE EXECUTIVE, ASSURES OF GOVERNMENT’S COMMITMENT TO WORKERS’ WELFARE AND HARMONIOUS RELATIONSHIP

The Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has assured the new leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Kogi state of government’s commitment to welfare of workers and harmonious relationship with the labour movement in the state.

He made the statement while on an official working visit to the Comrade Onu Edoka labour house in Lokoja on Friday, the Special Adviser who made the visit in order to familiarize with the newly elected leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress under Comrade Gabriel Amari says he was pleased to be with the labour leaders and assured them of a cordial, productive and harmonious relationship between the government and the labour leaders as it has been the tradition of Governor Yahaya Bello to continue to make working environment conducive and place welfare of civil servants as topmost on the government’s priority list.

The Special Adviser who was received at the secretariat by the newly elected state Chairman of NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari and State Secretary, Comrade Paul Onu congratulated the newly elected state executive members for emerging at a time the labour needs experienced, patriotic and committed leadership.

He commended the immediate past State Chairman, Comrade Onu Edoka for his outstanding achievements and legacy projects for the labour movement.

While welcoming the Special Adviser, the state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Gabriel Amari thanks the Governor’s aide for the visit, he said the labour movement under his leadership is ready, available and willing to work with government for continued welfare of workers and working environment for better productivity.

The Chairman encouraged the government to consider welfare and sustainable palliative to support workers in the state, especially in the era of economic reality occasioned by subsidy removal on petroleum motor spirit (PMS) which has raised prices of goods and services, thereby making the economy harder for the workforce in the country.

He commended the government for her efforts and encouraged more in order to boost the performing capacity of the workers in the state.
