KOGI MEDIA TOUR: KOGI EAST COMMENDS GOVERNOR ODODO FOR INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENTS
As part of the ongoing media tour across Kogi State, the co-team leaders Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, and Commissioner for Works, Hon. Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf led the delegation to Kogi East to assess and showcase the laudable projects of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.
During the inspection of ongoing and completed projects in Ankpa, Engr. Yusuf reaffirmed Governor Ododo’s commitment to infrastructural development across the three senatorial districts of the state.
He explained that the erosion control and road construction project handled by ACRESAL will properly channel floodwaters, enhance accessibility, and prevent environmental hazards caused by erosion in Ankpa.
“We commenced this media tour yesterday, beginning with the western part of the state where we saw numerous projects being executed under the leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. Today, we are in Ankpa to witness another important project being handled by ACRESAL.”
“This is an erosion control and road construction project. As you can see, the drains on both sides about one meter by one meter in size will serve as effective channels to control erosion and protect the ecological system of this location,” Engr. Yusuf stated.
The team also visited the Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, where Hon. Kingsley Fanwo highlighted the importance of peace, unity, and inclusiveness being fostered by Governor Ododo. He noted that the Provost of the College of Education (Technical), Mopa, is an Igala man, while the Provost of the State College of Education, Ankpa, is an Okun man, a deliberate step towards strengthening unity across the state.
Hon. Fanwo further disclosed that the College had requested support for its most urgent needs, which the Governor has addressed by ensuring stable electricity, adequate water supply, and improved facilities to create a conducive learning environment for students and staff. He also noted that a skill acquisition centre has been established to empower youths and make them self-reliant.
In her remarks, the Vice Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Hajia Halimat Imam expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for the massive projects in Ankpa. She explained that the gully erosion had previously caused severe damage, rendering the road unmotorable. She thanked the Governor for bringing relief to the people and assured him of their maximum support for his administration now and in 2027.
Also speaking, the Supervisor for Works and Planning in Ankpa LGA, Hon. Ibrahim Yahaya described Governor Ododo as “God-sent” and commended him for the timely intervention in their roads and other projects. He noted that while rain had delayed the asphalting, the drainage and other key components of the road project had already been completed.
Other laudable projects were also assessed during the media tour, including ongoing works at Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area, and other LGAs in Kogi East.
