Kogi PDP in Disarray as more members decamped to join APC

By Sunday Ajayi – Lokoja

It is yet another major setback for the main opposition party in Kogi state as more heavy weight politicians are leaving the party to join the ruling All Progressive Congress in the state.

According to information available to our medium, the situation might get worse as the November 11 Governorship election draws near in the state, as what prompted them to abandon the platform may not be unconnected with the abysmal performance of the party in the last general elections especially that majority of the party candidates could not win at the polls, hence many of them may not be able to muster the courage to remain in the opposition party for another round of eight years.

Meanwhile just joining the ruling party from the People’s Democratic Party is the State Auditor of the party, Chief Paul Oludoyi from Mopamuro local government area, who despite not being able to attend the unveiling of Okun United For Ododo Support Group in Kabba last week, sent his goodwill message to assure the group that he is with them in spirit, body and soul.

He promised to join to work for the victory of the Governorship candidate of the APC, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and his running mate, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salisu, noting that Ododo is loved by all because of his purposeful disposition to the development of the entire state.

“My heart and mind are with His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who will by the special Grace of God the Almighty be the next Governor of our beloved Kogi State”

Also, a very close ally of the former Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, Mrs Grace Ojo also from Mopamuro local government also decamped from the party to the ruling APC. She  noted that it has become necessary for her to leave since the party no longer recognizes her importance coupled with impunity that has become the order of the day in the administration of the party hence she has decided to pitch her tent with the Governorship Candidate of the APC.

She said Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has all it takes to lead the state to a great height, pointing out that the unprecedented achievements of Governor Yahaha Bello would be added and available for him to coast to the victory at the poll, while calling on the people of Okun Nation to join the moving train as victory is assured with the APC.

Okun united for Ododo/Joel Project is a support group prepared to undertake the task of mobilizing both human and other resources to galvanize support and votes for the APC to come out victorious in the November 11 Governorship election in Kogi state.
