Kogi former Governor, H E. Alhaji Yahaya Bello, a man whose leadership legacy and political philosophy transcended beyond the shores of the confluence of River Niger and Benue for transformative development and administering justice, with Kogi West most successful and accomplishing politician, a 3rd termer and ranking former Senator that represented the good people of Kogi West with class, honors, and colors,courage , glamour and dignity without baggages, and with his trademark Afrofashionista self- made Yoruba Cat style .
During his term and reigned between 2007-2015, and 2019-2023 he was described by his Constituents as Mr Empowerment, at the time when nobody in Kogi State knows nothing about Political Empowerment, Senator Smart Adeyemi was the one who introduced a visible , verifiable and life changing empowerment into Kogi West Politics, and the entire Kogi State as people’s elected Senator from the state, he was also described as the most accessible Senator,an accolades he has earned unto this day, and to capped it, he remains most friendly person to Market Women trading along Lokoja – Kotton Karfe and Abuja road .
