Kogi State Commissioner for Health Dr Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza Conducts Free Medical Outreach in Support of Tinubu, Ododo, Yahaya Bello

The Kogi State Ministry of Health on Tuesday, 26th of May 2026. Organized a free medical outreach in Agasa community of Okene Local Government Area in the Kogi Central Senatorial District. This initiative provided essential healthcare services to over 1,000 residents from Agasa and neighboring communities.
The outreach, held at the Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) in Agasa, was coordinated by the Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza. It was part of a broader effort to honor and support the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello.
Dr. Abdulazeez Adams Adeiza emphasized that the initiative was designed to give back to the community and express gratitude for the ongoing support of the government at both state and national levels. He highlighted that the outreach underscores the administration’s dedication to enhancing healthcare delivery at the grassroots level and ensuring rural communities have access to quality medical services.
The event saw a significant turnout of medical professionals, including twenty-three( 23) doctors drawn from different specialties

Amongst others from various hospitals and medical institutions across the state.
Residents began arriving at the Agasa PHC as early as 7:00 a.m. to take advantage of the free healthcare services. Medications, medical supplies, eyeglasses, and other consumables were readily available and distributed at no cost to beneficiaries.
Patients requiring surgical procedures were referred to the teaching hospital of Confluence University of Science and Technology in Okene for complimentary surgical operations.
The atmosphere at the outreach was vibrant and encouraging, with health experts conducting health talks, sensitization campaigns, and public health education sessions aimed at promoting healthy living and preventive healthcare.
In the same vein, Dr. Shuaibu Stephen, the Chief Medical Director of Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital in Okene, praised the medical outreach initiative as a groundbreaking effort in the state. He emphasized that this initiative underscores the significant priority the Kogi State leadership places on the health sector. It serves as a vital platform for providing equitable access to quality medical services for all community members in the area.
Dr. Stephen described the outreach as a comprehensive strategy to address the healthcare needs of the populace, who participated in large numbers to benefit from the program. He observed that the community members were visibly delighted to be part of the initiative, and the medical team took pride in offering free medical services to the people at no personal cost.
Other speakers at the event jointly described the initiative as another laudable effort toward improving healthcare services for people at the grassroots level. She encouraged residents to make better use of Primary Healthcare Centres around them and emphasized the importance of avoiding self-medication.
They further noted that the outreach aligns with efforts to ensure that people have access to quality and genuine drugs through recognized healthcare facilities while helping them identify and avoid fake drugs.
The speakers equally stated that the medical team was fully committed to ensuring that everyone who attended the outreach received proper medical attention and professional treatment.
Adding that the outreach as a comprehensive healthcare intervention is designed to bring quality medical services closer to the people at no cost while also helping citizens feel the direct impact of governance.

The outreach attendees included prominent heads from various health institutions and hospitals such as Dr. Ayo Olayemi, Chief Medical Director of the Hospitals Management Board; Dr. Monday Adejoh, Head of Kogi HIV AIDS control agency and Dr. Adekunle Aledare from the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency; Pharm. Ibrahim Salamat Onize, Executive Secretary of the Kogi State Drugs Management Agency; Mr. Maji Enoch, Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Ministry of Health; Mr. Johnson Aiyedogbon, Director of PRS; Mallam Salihu Idris, Director of Accounts at the Kogi State Ministry of Health; Dr. Stephen Shaibu, Chief Medical Director of the Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital; Dr. Anaza Duro James Joseph, Provost of the Kogi State School of Nursing, Obangede, Dr Bola Emmanuel Jonah Desk Officer of the state SWAP, and other distinguished official
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation and joy over the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. Many commended the Kogi State Government and the Ministry of Health for bringing healthcare services closer to rural communities.
