According to the Commissioner, the annual review meeting serves as a vital platform for the state health sector, enabling the Ministry to assess progress in the fight against HIV. This gathering also provides opportunities to identify areas for improvement and to devise effective strategies to address the challenges that lie ahead. “I encourage each of you to engage actively in this meeting,” the Commissioner stated. “Your experiences and insights are invaluable as we work together to shape our future plans and strategies.”While we have made commendable strides in reducing new infections and enhancing access to treatment and care for those living with HIV, we recognize that our journey is far from complete. It is imperative that we collaborate closely to achieve our shared objectives.
Over the next three days, the meeting will review the government’s achievements and challenges from the past year, as well as discuss strategies to strengthen efforts in the coming year. The Commissioner noted that the meeting will also facilitate the exchange of best practices and lessons learned from one another’s experiences.
Mr. Momoh Steven urged all participants to contribute actively to the discussions and deliberations, emphasizing that their insights are crucial in refining the operational plan and guiding future initiatives. Together, we can make significant progress in our fight against the HIV epidemic in Kogi State.
