KOGI STATE GOVERNOR’S AIDE, HON. OMOLUABI BEGINS POS/START-UP CASH EMPOWERMENT UNDER THE RENEWED HOPE AMBASSADORS INITIATIVE, TARGETS 500 BENEFICIARIES ACROSS 85 WARDS OF KOGI WEST
In furtherance of grassroots economic empowerment and in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Energy Matters, Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Special Advisers’ Forum, has commenced a ward-by-ward POS and start-up cash empowerment programme across the Kogi West Senatorial District.
The initiative, being implemented under the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Initiative, is designed to empower five beneficiaries in each of the 85 wards across Kogi West, with a projected total of 500 direct beneficiaries upon completion.
The programme focuses on equipping youths, women, and small-scale entrepreneurs with POS machines and start-up cash support to stimulate self-reliance, financial inclusion, and local economic growth.
It will be recalled that 25 beneficiaries had earlier benefited from the empowerment scheme in December, marking the pilot phase of the programme. Building on the success and positive feedback recorded during that phase, Hon. Omoluabi has now formally commenced the full ward-by-ward rollout of the empowerment exercise.
The ward-level implementation officially kicked off yesterday at Okekoko Ward, where selected beneficiaries received POS/start-up cash support. The beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to the governor’s aide, describing the intervention as timely and impactful, especially in the face of prevailing economic challenges.
Speaking through representatives at the commencement, Hon. Omoluabi reaffirmed his commitment to people-centred leadership, noting that the empowerment programme is not a one-off gesture but a deliberate strategy to create sustainable livelihoods at the grassroots. He emphasised that empowering citizens economically remains one of the most effective ways to reduce poverty, discourage social vices, and strengthen community resilience.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Initiative is structured to complement the Kogi State Government’s development drive by ensuring that governance and its benefits are felt directly at the ward level. He further assured that transparency and fairness would guide the selection process as the programme moves from ward to ward across the senatorial district.
Residents and community leaders in Okekoko Ward have lauded the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of responsive leadership and a clear reflection of the Renewed Hope philosophy in action.
The empowerment train is expected to continue steadily across all wards in Kogi West, reinforcing Hon. Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi’s reputation as a grassroots-focused leader committed to inclusive development and sustainable empowerment.
