HAJIA SEFINAT USMAN ODODO SUPPORT FOR AJAOKUTA STEEL TOWNSHIP WOMEN LEADERS RECORDS MASSIVE SUCCESS

The Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo Support for Ajaokuta Steel Township Women Leaders, organised by Adm. Musa Sandra, PhD, was successfully held at Basesan’s Guest House, Ajaokuta, on Monday, 5th January, 2026, drawing a massive turnout of women leaders, party stakeholders, youths and members of the general public.
The programme was graced by Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, First Lady of Kogi State, ably represented by Hajiya Karimat Abdullahi, wife of the Honourable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State. Accompanied by Mrs. Aishat Abanika, wife of the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and Hajiya Mrs. Medina Umar Faruk, wife of the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources. Also present to receive Her Excellency were prominent political and party leaders, including Hon. Sanni Abdulraheem, MBA, LLB, FCAI, FSAN, Member of the House of Representatives, Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, and his wife, Hajiya Bilikisu Sanni Egidi, Hon. Suleiman Ibrahim APC State PRO, the APC Deputy Woman Leader of Ajaokuta Local Government, APC Geregu Ward Chairman, Woman Leader and Secretary, Steel Township overall Chairman, overall Woman Leader and overall Youth Leader, Hon. Prince Mohammed Haruna Ganaja , APC Chairman candidate for the Local Government, Hon. Hon Mukaila Geregu, SSA Special Person, and Hon. Munirat Bint Ibrahim, SSA Women Entrepreneurship. Their presence added prestige, solidarity and political significance to the event.

A major highlight of the programme was the distribution of food items, cash, and clothing materials to women and other beneficiaries across Ajaokuta Steel Township. In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and commitment to women empowerment, Her Excellency, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, further supported the initiative with a donation of One Million Naira (₦1,000,000) to women at the grassroots.
The outreach also extended to Youths of the Central Working Committee, Steel Township Ajaokuta, who actively participated and benefited from the initiative, underscoring the inclusive nature of the programme.
The Member House of Representative thanked the Women and Youths for remaining resolute with the party, he assured them of more benefit of Good Governance, under the Leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Participants commended the First Lady for her compassionate leadership and consistent support for women and youth development across the State, describing the intervention as timely, impactful and people-centred. The event further strengthened unity among women leaders and deepened grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ajaokuta Steel Township.
In her closing remarks, the Convener, Adm. Musa Sandra, PhD, expressed profound appreciation to all dignitaries, organisations, youth groups and participants for their overwhelming support, noting that the success of the programme reflects the growing strength of community-driven development and women-led initiatives.
