Kogi West 4 Tinubu & Karimi Group Slams Communiqué by ‘Kogi Govt Appointees Posing as APC Stakeholders,’ Calls It a Desperate Attack

The Kogi West 4 Tinubu & Karimi Re-election Project has condemned a recent communiqué issued by a group calling itself “Kogi West APC Stakeholders,” describing it as the “last desperate struggle of a beheaded snake.”

In a press statement signed by Pastor Stanley Ajileye on behalf of the group, KWTAKRP said the communiqué was a reaction to the reported adoption of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi as the consensus candidate of the ruling party in Kogi West.

The group accused the authors of the communiqué of choosing “the path of bitterness, division, and political desperation” at a time when the party is pursuing reconciliation.

“Ordinarily, one would have expected that, in the spirit of the ongoing reconciliation process within the party, all aggrieved tendencies would sheath their swords and allow peace, unity, and collective progress to prevail,” the statement read.

KWTAKRP said the communiqué had exposed those behind repeated “votes of no confidence” and internal attacks in Kogi West. It alleged that some of the individuals involved had presented themselves as aspirants working for the interest of the senatorial district while pursuing personal ambitions.

“Today, their real intentions have been laid bare. They are nothing but wolves in sheep’s clothing, pursuing selfish ambitions at the expense of the collective destiny of our people. In no distant time, the wheat shall surely be separated from the chaff,” Ajileye stated.

The group maintained that the people of Kogi West would decide at the polls, adding that any aspirant positioning against Senator Karimi was standing against the collective interest of the district.

“We remain unwavering in our support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Steve Sunday Karimi. Our resolve is firm, our direction is clear, and our commitment to the continued progress, unity, and political stability of Kogi West remains unshaken,” the statement concluded.

The communiqué from the opposing group had earlier declared support for another aspirant for the Kogi West senatorial ticket in 2027, sparking renewed political tension within the APC in the district.

PRESS STATEMENT

The unsigned communique circulated by a group parading themselves as “Kogi West APC Stakeholders” is nothing more than the last desperate struggle of a beheaded snake.

It is the predictable reaction of individuals who have suddenly realized that they have come to the end of the road following the cheering and overwhelming news of the adoption of Senator Karimi as the consensus candidate of the ruling party.

Ordinarily, one would have expected that, in the spirit of the ongoing reconciliation process within the party, all aggrieved tendencies would sheath their swords and allow peace, unity, and collective progress to prevail. Unfortunately, the authors of this ill-conceived communique have chosen the path of bitterness, division, and political desperation.

Ironically, one useful outcome of their communique is that it has finally exposed the real faces behind the repeated “votes of no confidence” and orchestrated internal attacks that Kogi West has witnessed over time. The mask has fallen. We now know the true enemies of Kogi West.

It is even more unfortunate that some of the persons behind this conspiracy are individuals who have presented themselves before the public as aspirants supposedly working for the interest of Kogi West.

Today, their real intentions have been laid bare. They are nothing but wolves in sheep’s clothing, pursuing selfish ambitions at the expense of the collective destiny of our people. In no distant time, the wheat shall surely be separated from the chaff.

Let it be clearly stated that God is not mocked. He knows those who genuinely seek the peace, unity, and advancement of Kogi West, and we know those who merely seek power for personal relevance and in great desperation.

We also remind these self-appointed stakeholders that it is one thing to manipulate or secure a party ticket, but it is another thing entirely to secure the genuine mandate, trust, and acceptance of the people of Kogi West.

The dice is already cast, and the people are watching keenly.

Any aspirant positioning himself against Senator Karimi is clearly standing against the collective interest, aspirations, and political direction of Kogi West. The people will meet them where it matters most, at the polls.

We remain unwavering in our support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Steve Sunday Karimi. Our resolve is firm, our direction is clear, and our commitment to the continued progress, unity, and political stability of Kogi West remains unshaken.
