Kogi:Ankpa lawmaker Gives N4.8M scholarship to 24 Students

The member representing Ankpa I state Constituency, Hon. Akus Lawal has given 24 students in his constituency scholarship.

Akus, who disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday said the scholarship worth N4.8M.

Addressing Assembly correspondent on this laudable gesture, Akus disclosed that, he remains committed in complimenting Government efforts in educational development in Kogi State.

The first time lawmaker argued that, education remains the bedrock for a better Nigeria, stressing that, under his watch as Ankpa 1 representative in the Kogi State House of Assembly, he will not relent in sponsoring motions and bills that will improve the lives of his constituency.

“We are doing this to contribute our own quota on the educational sector and compliment what the Government is doing towards improving education in Kogi State.

” This will help to also ease the burden of parents due to the economic hardship going on in the Country”he stated.

He, however, admonished beneficiaries not to abuse the privilege given to them, but to ensure that, they remain a good ambassador of Ankpa Local Government, Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
