KOLAWOLE JAMES OLOWOOKERE, SAN, TO RECEIVE PRESTIGIOUS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE AWARD ON AUGUST 19

Renowned legal luminary, philanthropist and principal partner, Kolawole James Olowookere & Co legal firm, Kolawole James Olowookere, SAN, is set to be honoured with the Prestigious Community Development Service Award 2026 by DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper_for his outstanding contributions to community development, legal advocacy, and humanitarian service.
The award will be presented to him at the newspaper’s 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja at 5:00pm.
The event is being organized to commemorate 27 Years of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria with the theme: “Economic Reforms and Sustainable Development in a Democracy: The Nigerian Experience.”
Announcing the honour, the Publisher /Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, described the Senior Advocate of Nigeria as a beacon of service whose legal practice and community interventions have impacted thousands of lives across the country.
“Kolawole James Olowookere, SAN, has distinguished himself not only in the legal profession but also in service to humanity. Through pro-bono legal aid, educational support, and empowerment programmes, he has demonstrated that true leadership is about giving back to the community,” Chief Femi stated.
Over the years, the SAN has championed access to justice for the less privileged, supported youth and women empowerment initiatives, and sponsored community development projects aimed at improving livelihoods.
In his response, Kolawole James Olowookere, SAN, expressed appreciation to DEMOCRACY NEWSLINE Newspaper for the recognition. He dedicated the award to his colleagues at the Bar, beneficiaries of his community programmes, and all Nigerians working to build a just and equitable society.
“This honour will spur me to do more. As lawyers, we have a responsibility to use our knowledge and influence to uplift communities and defend the common good. Community service remains the true measure of leadership,” he said.
The ceremony will also feature a keynote lecture by policy experts and the induction of other distinguished Nigerians into the _Good Governance Hall of Fame_ for their contributions to democracy, leadership, and national development.
Legal practitioners, traditional rulers, government officials, and community stakeholders from across the country are expected to attend the event.
