KOSU Innovation Hub Director Selected as Facilitator at British Council Entrepreneurship Forum

The Director of Kogi State University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub, Dr. Fanisi Babatunde has been appointed by the British Council as a regional facilitator under the British Council’s Enhancing Entrepreneurship Education in Nigerian Higher Education Institutions (BC: EEE) Project. His nomination follows his participation in a high-level capacity building workshop held in Abuja between Monday, 2nd June to Wednesday, 4th June 2025.

As a facilitator, Dr. Fanisi is now expected to cascade the training to other institutions within his assigned cluster, promoting the integration of entrepreneurship education across tertiary institutions in the region. The British Council has committed to providing full operational and technical support to ensure an impactful rollout.

This latest achievement marks another national recognition of the University’s growing profile in innovation-driven education and spotlights the confidence of local and international development partners in Kogi State University, Kabba under the distinguished leadership of Professor K.I.T. Eniola fNSM, FRA, as an emerging force in entrepreneurship education and innovation in Nigeria.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor K.I.T. Eniola, as advocate of clear distinction between art and crafts, and entrepreneurship, has been widely acknowledged as the brain behind the strategic re-engineering of the University’s academic focus—moving beyond conventional classroom instruction to a competency-based learning system that prepares students to become problem solvers, innovators, and job creators.

The vision of the Vice Chancellor to establish a Hub that serves as a platform for incubation, mentoring, and strategic capacity building for students and staff alike continues to find expressions leading to the University’s growing influence in the national innovation ecosystem.

It will be recalled that the University, through the department of Mass Communication (in partnership with the university’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub), recently supported the registration of five student-led businesses as part of its 2025 Mediapreneurship Pitchathon initiative.

End.
