KOSU VC Celebrates Nigeria at 66, Calls for Collective Commitment to National Transformation

KOSU, Kabba | October 1, 2026

The Vice-Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba (KOSU), Professor K.I.T. Eniola , fNSM, FRA, has congratulated the university community and Nigerians alike on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary. The Vice-Chancellor, calling on citizens to renew their commitment to the transformation, unity and sustainable development of Nigeria, stated that the country is for all to build.

In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the responsibility of every Nigerian to contribute positively to the growth and development of the country, stressing that the task of nation-building requires collective effort, patriotism, integrity and a shared commitment to the common good.

He also reaffirmed the commitment of KOSU to producing graduates who are not only academically competent but also equipped with the knowledge, values and skills required to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.

Speaking further, the Professor of Environmental and Public Health Microbiology noted that while emphasis is often placed on the need for good leaders, equal attention must be given to the quality and character of citizens, stressing that leaders emerge from the same society they are expected to lead.

He stated that, “No nation can grow beyond the quality of its human resources. We must have a consensus on the kind of nation we want to build, and leaders and followers alike must take the assignment seriously.”
