Kwara NUJ tasks Police Officers on diligent service

Men and Officers of the Kwara State police Command have been urged to continue to serve diligently to get to the top.

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist,  Kwara State Council, Mr Abdullateef Ahmed made the call at a get-together In honour of IGP Adeolu Olukayode Egbetokun Sponsored by spokes person Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi at Police officers Mess, GRA, Ilorin. Kwara State.
Ahmed, who expressed delight in the job Kwara State Police Command is doing in ensuring security of life and property of the people of the State, added that there is reward for deligent work.

” Police officers in Kwara State have been fortunate particular if you are lucky to pass through Kwara command, it is like you have gotten a ticked to get to the Pinacle of your career in the service.

“We have living witnesses to this testimony. You have former commissioner of police MD Abubakar you have the immediate IGP also served in Kwara area command that is an attestation to the quality of Kwara Command of police.

“I’m also glad that the acting inspector general of police Olukayode Egbetokun also served diligently while in Kwara State we can count so many people that have had that opportunity and they they rose to that Zenith of their career before they eventually retired from service,” he said.

He also stressed the need for police authority to reward those who are due for it.

“We are glad that the PPRO has been doing a fantastic job and I wish to recommend him though I may not have the power in as much we don’t want him to leave us in Kwara command it is high time that the police authority look inward to pick him as the next spokesperson of the force headquarters in Abuja.

“There is no doubt,   since the last couple of years he has been serving in Kwara, we have a lot of testimonies to say about him.

“He has been very supportive he has been very helpful not just to journalists alone, he has been a friend of everyone in Kwara State any point in time just call him, if you are in distress just call him, put a call to him surely you will be glad at the responses you will get from him and that tells you about quality of his person and character.

“The first time I met the acting commissioner of police in Kwara State DCP Adekimi Ojo the very short period we interacted I know that he is also going higher and I want to pray to Almighty God to lift you higher than this and we will also be glad to have you here as commissioner of police in Kwara State.

“We are not just celebrating the acting inspector general of police we are also celebrating ourselves. I want to thank you most sincerely particularly the PPRO for deeming it feat to host our colleagues to this very delectable get to gether thank you so much for this opportunity” he said.

Deputy Commissioner of police DCP Adekimi Ojo of the operations Department commended journalists in the state for a good working relationship adding  “Without you we can not achieve anything. We are part of you. This place is your place feel free to come to this place. If you desire honorary membership just meet the PRO we are going to screen you.” He said
The Kwara State police public relations officer PPRO SP Ajayi Okasanmi said ” with all sense of responsibility there is no doubt the fact that the DCP Adekimi Ojo could one day become the inspector general of police of this country. That is why we want to sit together to make today a day of joy.

He added that Kwara State has become a place they come hoping that after leaving Kwara they will rise to the highest position and wish same to the Deputy Commissioner of police in charge of operations DCP Adekimi Ojo as he pray for him to become the IGP.

A journalist in Ilorin Alhaji Muyideen Aliu noted that any police officer that serve in Kwara diligently by the Grace of God will rise to the top.

“Serving in Kwara has always been a breeding ground. Kwara has produced Four IGP now,”  he said.

He noted that there could be challenges, but urged the men and officers of the command to face their job diligently and trust God

“By the Grace of God you will continue to rise. To PRO I just want to appeal to you, do not change no matter the challenges just hope in God. Continue to do your job very well. God Almighty will see you through ,” he prayed.
