LEKE ABEJIDE ATTENDS AMBASSADOR JAIYEOLA LEWU’S 80TH BIRTHDAY AND BOOK LAUNCH IN ABUJA, DONATES GENEROUSLY

It was a gathering of the creme de la creme on Tuesday as the Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Leke Abejide, joined family, friends and dignitaries to celebrate Ambassador Jaiyeola Joseph Lewu on his 80th birthday and the public presentation of his book titled “Time and Space in Diplomacy”.

The event, held at the Rotunda Hall of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, drew political leaders, diplomats, captains of industry, and community stakeholders from across Kogi State and beyond.
Hon. Abejide described Ambassador Lewu as a nationalist, elder statesman, and mentor whose decades of service to Nigeria and Kogi State remain worthy of emulation.
_“Baba JJ Lewu is a library of wisdom. At 80, he has continued to give back to society through mentorship, public service, and now through this book that will guide younger generations,”_ Abejide said.
In a show of support for the celebrant and the success of the book launch, the federal lawmaker being the Chief Launcher at the occasion made a generous donation towards the project. The donation was well received by the organizers and guests, who applauded his commitment to education, history, and the preservation of legacies.
Other dignitaries at the event also pledged support for the book, which chronicles Ambassador Lewu’s journey in diplomacy, public service, and community leadership.
Speaking at the occasion, Ambassador Lewu expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and to all those who came to celebrate with him. He said the book was written to document his experiences and to inspire the younger generation to embrace integrity, patriotism, and service to humanity.
Dignitaries present included the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister State, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (GCFR); Ambassador Oladapo Enikanolaiye; Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan; Senator Dino Melaye, Hon Kola Ologbondiyan senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and other eminent guests.other serving and former public office holders, former deplomat, notable leaders from Okunland, members of the diplomatic corps, and captains of industry.
The highlight of the event was the cutting of the 80th birthday cake, the presentation of the book, and goodwill messages from across the country.
Hon. Abejide later joined other guests to felicitate with the Lewu family and prayed for more years of good health and wisdom for the celebrant.
