Longtime PDP Veteran, Engr. John Ibishagba, Defects to APC

In what can be described as a political shockwave, a seasoned leader with about 25 years of dedication to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has defected from the PDP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking before a gathering of APC faithful and guests in Ayede, Kabba/Bunu, Kogi State, Engr. John Ibishagba revealed that the decision came after deep reflection and consultation.

“This decision was not made lightly. I have spent 25 years serving the PDP with dedication, passion, and commitment. I have worked tirelessly alongside fellow party members to advance our shared vision and values. My decision to switch parties is not driven by personal gain or ambition but by a desire to serve our nation, state, and the people more effectively. I am convinced that the APC offers a brighter future for our country and a more inclusive platform for diverse voices,” he said.

Engr. Ibishagba expressed his willingness to join forces with the APC to address the challenges facing the people of the area. “Let me take this opportunity to remind everyone that addressing the numerous challenges facing Bunu, especially Olle/Okeoffin Ward, has been a burden on my heart. I have made personal efforts to alleviate these issues, but I must admit that personal resources alone are insufficient. Hence, the decision to join the ruling party to build a better world.”

Engr. Ibishagba reiterated his commitment to the ideals and policies of the APC. “The APC’s commitment to the principle of power rotation at all levels resonates deeply with me, and I am excited to contribute my skills and experience to that noble cause. As we embark on this new journey together, let me stress the importance of unity and collective effort in driving progress. As many of you, especially my amiable supporters, can attest, I am committed to fostering an inclusive and prosperous environment for us to engage. These principles will guide our doctrine even in this new family, the APC. I hereby pledge my loyalty, dedication, and hard work.”

Engr. Ibishagba also expressed gratitude to his former party, the PDP, for the opportunities provided during his tenure and appreciated the friendships, relationships, and alliances forged while it lasted.
